DANVILLE — The Danville High School Cooperative Education Program serves as a partnership in education outside the school walls, according to program supervisor Laurie Allison.“Cooperative education is a school and community partnership,” she said of the program she has supervised for 12 years. Goals/Objectives: To raise awareness of real life work issues that students will encounter in the modern day workforce. Students will also complete hours of work experience outside of school at a training station acquiring first hand knowledge about the workforce and gaining employable skills.

According to a February 10th article written by William Gillespie in Business Lexington, Stanford University professor Eric Hanushek claims that identifying and replacing 6 percent of a school systems least effective teachers can turn around student performance and have a greater and more positive impact than any other expenditure designed to stimulate economic growth.
